Man Shot In The Face Near Lexington Market In Downtown Baltimore, Police Say

A 29-year-old man was shot in the face during the middle of the day in a busy area in downtown Baltimore, police say.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29, officers on patrol in the area of Lexington Market reported hearing gunfire coming from the 300 block of Lexington Street, and further investigation led to the grisly discovery of a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.

According to the Baltimore Police Department, the man was taken by paramedics to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition on Monday afternoon.

Two possible suspects were seen fleeing on foot east toward Lexington and Howard Street, and the responding officers were able to apprehend them without incident.

The persons of interest were taken into custody, and Central District Shooting detectives are actively investigating the incident.
